Pressley likely to offer Prutton permanent City contract.

PruttonFollowing the completion of his loan spell with Coventry City, David Prutton, as expected, was not offered a new contract with Championship side Sheffield Wednesday and dropped into the free agent pool.

After joining the Sky Blues on loan for the final part of the season, Prutton seemingly did enough in eight appearances to impress manager Steven Pressley.

Known for his no-nonsense and tough-tackling style, Prutton’s experience was vital in helping the club avoid relegation to League Two, despite starting the season on -10 points, following a loss of form following the departure of Leon Clarke to Wolves in January.

Prutton has previously publicly stated that he would like to remain with the club, when speaking to The Coventry Telegraph as City secured their League One status and now they are reporting that Pressley is ready to make that happen as he prepares for next season.

Prutton has previously had spells at Nottingham Forest, Southampton, Leeds United, Colchester United, Swindon Town, Scunthorpe United and Sheffield Wednesday making 489 career appearances to date, scoring 27 goals.
