Coventry City have confirmed that goalkeeper Marko Maroši has today joined SkyBet League One side Shrewsbury Town for an undisclosed fee.
27 year old Maroši joined The Sky Blues in 2019 from Doncaster Rovers and would help City clinch the SkyBet League One trophy as City were promoted as Champions following the curtailment of the 2019/2020 Season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In his two seasons at St. Andrew’s Trillion Trophy Stadium Maroši would make 61 appearances, which included all 34 league games during the 2019/2020 League One winning season, before splitting league duties with Ben Wilson following an injury against Cardiff City during last season’s Championship campaign.
Marosi’s departure now leaves only Ben Wilson and Tom Billson at The Ricoh Arena, leaving manager Mark Robins short in the goalkeeper department. However, former goalkeeper Keiren Westwood has been linked with a return to The Ricoh Arena following Sheffield Wednesday’s relegation last season as a potential replacement, as has Simon Moore who has been released by Sheffield United following their relegation from The Premier League.
