Former Coventry City captain Richard Keogh opened his goalscoring account for the Republic of Ireland this afternoon.

Central defender Keogh, making his first start for his country, and only second appearance, nodded home the first goal of the game as The Republic ran out 4-0 winners over Georgia.

The vistors were reduced to ten men in the twentieth minute when goalkeeper Giorgi Liori was sent off for a foul on the edge of the box on West Bromwich Albion striker Shane Long, and Keogh netted the opening goal twenty-one minutes later.

Another former Sky Blue, Robbie Keane, netted a double after coming off the bench at half-time for his 125th Republic cap.

Another former fan’s favourite, Keiren Westwood, was in goal for the home side.
