Tribute to a Legend

Coventry City legend Jimmy Hill was paid the ultimate compliment at the Ricoh Arena yesterday as the club unveiled a 7ft bronze statue of the former Sky Blues’ Chairman and manager.

The 7ft bronze figure, paid for by fans and local businesses, is a tribute to Jimmy’s successful time as the club’s manager in the 1960s. He was later chairman, and guided the Sky Blues to the top flight during his time in charge of the club.

After leading the crowd in a rendition of the Sky Blue Song, much like he did before the last ever game at Highfield Road in 2005, Hill quipped; “I think they should have made the chin just a little bit longer!”
