Former Coventry City strikers Michael Mifsud and Marlon King have today found themselves new clubs.
Malta captain Mifsud left Valetta in June, and has now joined Australian A League side Melbourne Heart.
Mifsud became a fan favourite with Sky Blue fans after hitting a double at Old Trafford to knock Manchester United out of the League Cup in 2007, however fell out of favour with Chris Coleman before being released.
Fellow striker, King, has today joined League One side Sheffield United on a contract until the end of the season.
King spent one season at The Ricoh Arena under manager Aidy Boothroyd and despite his contoversial signing became a fans’ favourite after regularly finding the net.
However the striker’s exit was just as controversial as his signing; after ‘verbally agreeing’ a new contract to stay with the club, King signed for Birmingham City, who had just been relegated from the Premier League.
In two seasons at St. Andrews, King was top scorer for the club in both, however due to the financial difficulties surrounding the club’s owner Carson Yeung, King was told he could leave the club in their bid to slash the wage bill as he was one of the top earners.
