Former Coventry City striker Michael Mifsud earnt his 100th cap for Malta last night in a 4-1 defeat to Czech Republic, scoring his country’s only goal of the game.
Mifsud who played for The Sky Blues between 2007-2009, last month joined Melbourne Heart in Australia.
Mifsud, the two goal hero when Coventry won 2-0 at Old Trafford in the League Cup in September 2007 has now scored 38 goals in 100 appearances for Malta.
Former Coventry City academy star Daniel Sturridge started for, and scored an injury time penalty for England in a 4-1 win over Montenegro at Wembley
Craig Bellamy and Aron Gunnarsson also turned out for Wales and Iceland respectively, whilst Michael O’Neill and Oliver Norwood saw their Northern Ireland side suffer defeat.
