Former Coventry City defender Richard Wood has joined League One side in
an emergency one-month loan.
Wood, 30, originally joined The Sky Blues on loan from Sheffield Wednesday under Chris Coleman in 2009, making 5 appearances and scoring once before the move was made permanent where he would go on to make a further 129 appearances, with eight more goals.
After leaving City following the expiration of his contract, Wood moved to Charlton Athletic and then Rotherham United, whom he has joined Fleetwood on loan from.
Fleetwood manager Graham Alexander is thrilled with the signing, saying: “He’s a player I’ve admired for a long, long time and originally spoke to him two years ago.
“We know we’ve got a top pro on our hands so he’ll go straight into the squad for Saturday’s game.”
