Coventry City have this afternoon sacked first team manager Russell Slade with immediate effect.
Appointed in December 2016 on a contract only until the end of the season, Slade replaced interim manager Mark Venus tasked with pulling The Sky Blues out of the League One relegation zone.
However, only one win in thirteen league matches has seen The Sky Blues slump to the foot of the table, and following yesterday’s 0-0 draw at Shrewsbury Town, the Club are 13 points from safety with only eleven games remaining.
Slade has however led City to the Checkatrade Trophy Final at Wembley where they will face fellow League One side Oxford United on April 2nd- 30 years after the Club’s last visits for the 1987 FA Cup triumph and Community Shield loss.
