Coventry City forward George Thomas has today been called up for The Wales U21 squad to compete in this month’s Toulon Tournament.
Fresh off scoring the winning goal at Wembley in The Checkatrade Trophy Final, and finishing 2016/2017 as Coventry City’s top goalscorer, Thomas has been rewarded for his breakthrough into City’s first team.
Sky Blues’ central defender Cian Harries is on the standby list for Wales.
Wales will be managed by former Sky Blues’ captain Rob Page, and will have the following schedule;
Tuesday 30th May: France v Wales
Friday 2nd June: Bahrain v Wales
Monday 5th June: Wales v Ivory Coast
Semi-Finals: 8th June
3rd/4th Play Off: 10th June
Final: 10th June
Last season saw Jack Stephens, on loan from Premier League side Southampton, called up to the Toulon Tournament for England whilst on loan with Coventry City – where he and The Three Lions went on to win the tournament.
