Coventry City’s defense could be boosted for tomorrow’s pre-season friendly against Hinkley United at the Greene King Stadium, with both Ben Turner and James McPake having returned to full training.
Turner had been out since November with a knee problem, whilst McPake suffered a back injury back against Barnsley in January, both of which caused premature ends to the players’ seasons.
But following their returns to full training, Sky Blues’ boss Andy Thorn is looking forward to being able to give them run outs in City’s second pre-season game.
“It’s another opportunity for us to get the lads another 45 minutes under their belt.”
“You can do all the training you like but there is absolutely no substitute for playing games when it comes to building up your match fitness.”
“It’s all been going according to plan, we should have Ben and James coming back for Wednesday which is really pleasing so the plan is to do the same as we did at Nuneaton and put out two different sides over the 90 minutes so everybody gets a good run out.”
