After scoring both of the Sky Blues’ goals in the away friendly at Nuneaton Town on Saturday in the 2-2 draw, the Irish hitman spoke about his disappointing first season back at the club, where he made nay two substitute league appearances, one in the FA Cup and a start in the Carling Cup, and his hopes for next season.
“It was difficult for me last season and I don’t want to do that again. I don’t want to sit around, I want to play and if I can’t do that then I may need to play elsewhere.”
“It was great to get on the scoresheet, I felt sharp and I know it is only pre-season and I won’t get carried away but it is a good way to start.
After the game at Liberty Way on Saturday, Sky Blues boss, Andy Thorn described O’Donovan as “terrific.”
The Sky Blues’ next pre-season game is away at Hinkley United on Wednesday July 20th, kick off at 19:00.
