Striker Roy O’Donovan says he wants to use the upcoming 2011/2012 npower Championship season to showcase his abilities to the Coventry City fans.
After scoring both of the Sky Blues’ goals in the away friendly at Nuneaton Town on Saturday in the 2-2 draw, the Irish hitman spoke about his disappointing first season back at the club, where he made nay two substitute league appearances, one in the FA Cup and a start in the Carling Cup, and his hopes for next season.
“It was difficult for me last season and I don’t want to do that again. I don’t want to sit around, I want to play and if I can’t do that then I may need to play elsewhere.”
“It was great to get on the scoresheet, I felt sharp and I know it is only pre-season and I won’t get carried away but it is a good way to start.
After the game at Liberty Way on Saturday, Sky Blues boss, Andy Thorn described O’Donovan as “terrific.”
The Sky Blues’ next pre-season game is away at Hinkley United on Wednesday July 20th, kick off at 19:00.
