Coventry City Football Club have today announced which second-year apprentices they will and will not be offering new contracts to for next season.
Alex Gott, Ryan Smith, Jordan Smith, Ryan Quinn, Eli Bako, Jordan Forrester and Courtney Baker-Richardson have all been released, whilst Jack Finch has been offered a two-year professional contract.
Finch follows fellow Academy graduates Ryan Haynes & Ivor Lawton who have already signed professional contracts with The Sky Blues.
Academy manager Richard Stevens said: “This is a very anxious time for our second years but as a club we’re delighted to be able to offer Jack a deal to extend his stay with us so that he can continue to progress in the way that he has been.
“Unfortunately this can also be a difficult time for some of our other boys who we have decided not to retain, some of whom have been with us since the beginning of our development programme.
“We do still take our duty of care to these boys very seriously though and we will work with them to help them identify the next step of their careers.”
