Former Coventry City loan signing Jon Stead has revealed the reasons behind turning down a second loan spell with the club.
Stead, who made 10 appearances and scored two goals in 2010 for The Sky Blues, was offered a return by Steven Pressley in the January transfer window, but turned the move down.
Stead now finds himself at tonight’s opponents, Bradford City, on loan from hometown club Huddersfield Town via another loan spell at Oldham Atheltic and in an interview with The Bradford Argus he revealed the reasons behind the snub.
“They were trying to take me on loan and it would have appealed to me.
“But I’ve got a new baby and my second coming in three or four weeks so it wasn’t a time for me to be spending most of the week away from home. That was the only reason I didn’t take it.
“But coming to Bradford ticks all the boxes at this stage of my career. It’s somewhere I feel I can flourish.”
