Coventry City have this afternoon completed the signing of Republic of Ireland Under 17 international Darragh Leahy.
Leahy originally joined the club in October on trial, and the club had been trying to secure his services since.
Joining from Dublin based club St. Kevin’s Boys Club, Leahy will join Jason Farndon’s Under 18s side as a first year scholar.
City’s Under-18s coach Jason Farndon has praised the signing and the work of Head of Academy Recruitment Carl McNally.
Farndon said: “We’re delighted to get this deal over the line as we’ve been chasing Darragh for some time since his trial in October.
“He’s got a great mentality which fit in perfectly with the group whilst he was over here and he is a great athlete.
“The group currently lacks a natural left-back so we’ve worked hard to fill that position and make sure every position is covered.
“A lot of credit has to go to Carl McNally who has worked extremely hard to get this deal over the line and formed a good relationship with St. Kevin’s Boys Club in Dublin.”
