Coventry City striker Marcus Tudgay has this evening signed a new one-year contract with The Sky Blues, becoming the fourth signing of the summer behind Jodi Jones, Kwame Thomas and Marvin Sordell.

The 33 year old has signed an extension to the contract which originally expired last month, to keep him at The Ricoh Arena until June 3oth 2017.

In 27 appearances last season, Tudgay scored 5 goals and manager Tony Mowbray expressed his delight at keeping the veteran striker when speaking to the Club’s official website: “I’m delighted to see Marcus Tudgay stay at the club for another season.

“Marcus was a player I highlighted at the back end of last season as someone who gives us some much-needed experience but also an intelligence and an awareness on the ball.

“He is a player who has a presence in the dressing room and is an important figure for some of the younger players at the club. He scored some important goals last season and I’m hoping for more of the same in the new campaign.”

In total, Tudgay has made 49 appearances for The Sky Blues, scoring 9 times.
